The first trailer for Lupin III: The Revenge, the sequel to the 1995 film that spawned a series of television series and a movie, premiered Tuesday night on Showtime.
It’s the first major trailer since the release of “Lupins” at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival.
The trailer opens with the same clip of the “Lucky” character, now a teenager, playing video games with a group of classmates.
A few minutes later, the video game character jumps out of a window and lands on a hillside.
A couple of shots later, we see him climbing back to the school building.
Lupkin III: Revenge is based on the novel by Terry Brooks, but it’s actually based on a comic book by James Patterson.
It tells the story of Ludo, a teenage boy who, after escaping from his house, takes on the name of Lupin the Red and joins the notorious gang known as the Lufthansa Club.
It also stars Mark Ruffalo, Frances Conroy, and Dominic Monaghan.
The movie follows the adventures of Lumpy (Ruffalo), who finds himself in a strange, alternate world where he is an outlaw.
He travels to the kingdom of Lumiya and fights alongside the Black Dragon, a mythical dragon.
The film also stars James Earl Jones, Francesco Francavilla, J.K. Simmons, and Zendaya.
The Lufathansa’s Club was one of the many gangs that existed in the 1940s, and it was a major part of the film.
It was led by a gangster known as The Count (Simmons) and was based in the fictional city of Lufhia.
In the movie, the Count has a daughter named Lumi (Jones).
“Lupus III: Revenge” stars Ruffalo as Lupin, with Conroy as The Duke, Jones as Count Lumi and Simmons as Black Dragon.
Ruffalo is the only returning cast member from the original “Lumiya” film, and he plays a young boy named Daphne (Jones) and her brother.”LUPIN III: REVENGE” will be available on DVD and Blu-ray from Nov. 25, 2020, according to a statement on the official Lumiyan website.
The official film site, Lupin’s Lotto, has a countdown of the day it will hit theaters.
The official trailer was released by Lionsgate Entertainment.
